BARBARA FISCHER, 52, of West Bloomfield, died Nov. 7, 2003. She was a child psychologist and an advocate for health care for women and children. She was also a founding member of the Michigan Women Psychologists and one of the first presidents; she was the president of the Michigan Chapter of the American Psychological Association and was on the board of Haven.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by her husband, Dr. Howard Fischer; daughter, Suzanne Fischer of Minnesota; mother, Miriam Feldman; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Diane Feldman of Detroit. She was the loving daughter of the late Dr. Paul Feldman.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Barbara Fischer Ph.D. Assistance Fund, c/o Children's Hospital, 3901 Beaubian, Detroit, MI 48201. Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.
